cancel account

  • How do I cancel my account?

I apparently don't fit into the cliques that have been established here, and as a matter of fact it was suggested by members that I leave.

If someone could show me, or cancel my account ASAP it would be much appreciated.

  • Maybe send a PM to Steve Jones:

  • Okay, so now we are just going to run away. Something I constantly tell my kids, you can't control others, only yourself. You need to treat people the way you want to be treated. If you treat people with disrespect or contempt or whatever; you can expect to be treated in the same manner. Communication is a two-way street, and you have to make an effort as much as we do.

There are no real cliques here. We are a community of professionals, and we expect others who come here to act as such. Snide remarks, crude comments from a new individual are not normally exceptable. Once you have become more a part of the community, and learn more about each of us, you'll start to understand us and what you can "get away with" and more importantly, how to do it such that it isn't taken improperly.

You really need to give SSC a chance, and you may find that this is an excellent place to learn and expand ones knowledge of SQL Server.

  • Hi dxmer,

a few thought on your statement on the other thread:

    ...

I apparently don't fit into the cliques that have been established here...

What you call "cliques" we would call slightly different: professionals.

And, as a professional, there are some things you should or shouldn't do.

    - stay who you are (meaning: don't change your nickname) = should do

    - stick with what you've said (meaning: don't delete posts) = should do

    - stay focused on the subject = should do

    - take replies as a personal offense rather than subject oriented = shouldn't do

    - try to understand that a global forum is different than a small talk in your office = should do.

From what I've seen I wouldn't consider the way you presented yourself as professional.

There are three ways I know of to change the current situation where people at this forum consider your behavior as unprofessional:

    1) Change the way you post,

    2) Change your nickname again (but if you continue to act like you did you might get the same advice again...) or

    3) Don't post anymore.

    Unfortunately, you've decided the latter.

Unfortunately, because it won't help you on your way to become a professional.

I would have hoped that you'd decide to choose the first path...

We can't make you stay at this forum but you should think about if you're really on the right track...

How do I cancel my account?

    The easiest way:

Sign off any threads and newsletters you subscribed to.

    Don't post anymore.

    Don't login anymore.

As you can see, to sign off is actually under your control. You don't have to wait on others...

I'm sure, site owners will take care of it and cancel your account as requested.

I'm sure, site owners will take care of it and cancel your account as requested.

So the final answer is there is no way to cancel an account once it has been established?

Why would you consider sending a message to the site owners or relying on their ability to recognize your request as "no way to cancel an account"?

Both might be none of the ways you'd consider as valid but they still exist - even if you continue to ignore them. Btw: would you mind to briefly describe the way you'd like to cancel an account?

Do I really need to explain what it means to cancel an account?

I have sent a message to the site owners and the contact us addresses.

All I have seen on the forum so far are speculations on how to cancel an account. I'm looking for an definitive answer. Since no one validated Florian Reischl's response, and kept on responding, it seemed as if no one agreed, or didn't see the post, or...that's why I don't get this place...

Actually, Lutz told you exactly what to do. Cancel any subscriptions you subscribed to, that includes forums you started/posted on, daily newsletters, etc.

    Then, stop coming to SSC.

    Done.

    End of problem.

  • Everyone that keeps posting is just helping to keep "forumloser" around. I suggest that everyone refrain from posting anymore to any of the threads that he has posted to.

At this point, IMO, he is keeping the posting going just to get a rise out of everyone else. Just ignore him. He wants to go away; let him.

    Goodbye. Fairwell.
