I had sql server 2005 in my computer. I had to reformat the computer. After that I tried re-installling sql server 2005 again, but I am getting the following error message. Any help is appreciated.

Explanation
An attempt was made to install (or update) SQL Server Native Client on a computer where SQL Server Native Client is already installed, and where the existing installation was from an MSI file that was not named sqlncli.msi.
User Action
To resolve this error, uninstall the existing version of SQL Server Native Client. To prevent this error, do not install SQL Server Native Client from an MSI file that is not named sqlncli.msi.
I tried uninstalling sql server native client but still its giving the same error. Can someone help me?

I would think a rebuild should remove all the references but it did not so you need to use the instructions in the link below to manually uninstall your previous install or the SQL Server installer will not run.

Thanks for the help, but unfortunatily that didn't work. I am getting the same error message. Do you have any other idea to fix this?

There is some specific way in there to clean your registry entry for native client make sure you remove all SQL Server entry in your registry.
Backup your registry first.

That is dependent on the OP because I answered two threads with similar problems in one day the other which included SSRS was resolved the same day.
