Is it wrong to use Truncate or DBCC command inside a function

  Dear All,

  Am facing problem while using a truncate or DBCC command inside a function. An error message saying "Invalid use of side-effecting or time-dependent operator in 'TRUNCATE TABLE' within a function." what could be the reason for this error.

  Please help me to solve this issue.

  Generally, you cannot make changes to the database within a scalar user-defined function:
