Delete system database used in Forefront

  • I am currently in the process of reinstalling Forefront Server Security in my domain. The previous installation was corrupted, as I try to install I keep getting referenced back to the original database that is located on my domain's sql server instance. It is in the system database folder and is called SybariEnterpriseManagerDist. The .mdf and .ldf files have been deleted but the database seems to still be referenced in EM. When I try to drop the database I get the error:

    Msg 3724, Level 16, State 3, Line 2

Cannot drop the database 'SybariEnterpriseManagerDist' because it is being used for replication.

    What are my options here?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me...

  • I'm assuming this is SQL2000 as you're referencing EM correct? You should post this in the 2000 forums normally ...

Anyways, you need to tear down replication before dropping the database. In EM, goto Tools -> Replication -> Disable Publishing or Distribution.

    Follow the instructions from there.
