Sigh...
I'm happy in my current job, so what did I do?
Started watching the National Geographic special from a while back, Mars. Well, it has plenty of shots of various SpaceX facilities, etc.
Which led me to visit the SpaceX careers page...
To see that they're looking for a SQL DBA for the Hawthorne, CA facility...
So...
Tempting...
(Except I really, really, really, really don't want to live in CA for various reasons which I'm not going into here)
*sigh*
Maybe when I get bored with my current job, they'll still be in the market.
Maybe they will allow you to work remotely?
That might be an option, but half the fun of working someplace like that would be to be able to walk over to the shop floor and chat with the folks working on the rockets and such...
Get hands-on with a Dragon capsule, stick your head in the bell of a Falcon rocket, that sort of thing...
(Yes, I'm a space geek...)
