Index operations with max degree of parallelism value

  • Good question thanks Junior.

  • Well, the traceflag doesn't control anything except parallelism of DBCC:

Disables parallel checking of objects by DBCC CHECKDB, DBCC CHECKFILEGROUP, and DBCC CHECKTABLE. By default, the degree of parallelism is automatically determined by the query processor. The maximum degree of parallelism is configured just like that of parallel queries. For more information, see Configure the max degree of parallelism Server Configuration Option

Just because you're right doesn't mean everybody else is wrong.

that beside, interesting question, thanks Junior

Quite right, I just assumed that some text had been missed out, Junior?

  • How I know it's a Monday...
I looked up all four trace flags and found that only one of them is known, so figured logically that had to be the answer.  So I went back to the QOTD to pick that option without paying much attention, and didn't realize they weren't listed in numerical order so selected the wrong option.
    D'oh... time for more coffee!
