Data Source Connectivity Not working with impersonation

  • Hi All,

Thanks for looking into my question...

I have a Sharepoint Integrated Installation of SSRS 2016.
Trying to setup a shared datasource for the reports and I have checked the following options.

The Individual user who is testing the connection is part of the AD Security group that has db_owner and db_reader (yes, redundant 😉 ) access to the database. But I am seeing the error message like the image posted.  If I explicitly add the windows domain account of the user to the database, test connection works successfully.

Has anyone seen a similar issue before.. Please help.

  • The full error message is missing so most likely no one saw that error unless they had the bottom of their monitor blocked in some way.

I'm on 2014 and lower so not sure if it's changed with 2016 but I would expect the SETUSER error instead.
If the full error was because the account you are using can't be found, can't be impersonated or you don't have permissions...however that full error goes then yes. Execute as User would require the user to explicitly be in the database.

    Sue
