If you just want to learn cursors, then crack open Books Online and read. Write a bunch of cursors.  You basically said "I know cursors are terrible, but I want to learn how to use them." Well, go to it. No outside intervention required.  Perhaps a better question might be when is it appropriate to use cursors and what kind and when is it absolutely not appropriate?
