    I remember in the late 80's saying that the 2-digit year would be a problem and getting the message from other programmers, "So what? I'll be at another company by then."

    So yes, we often did do it to ourselves.

    Those of us who have used the SMALLDATETIME datatype, we'll either be dead or gone fishing by 2079-06-06.

    I hope you live until then and... I hope the last voice you hear is mine. 😀

    There are a many data types and attributes like: MONEY, XML, Age TINYINT, Sex CHAR(1), and INT IDENTITY that won't scale to 2079.
