We have an application that can only connect to SQL Server (SQL1) using a SQL login (SQLUSER) and SQL1 is set to used Mixed authentication.
We have another SQL Server (SQL2) that accepts only Windows Authentication.
Now I would like to set up a linked server allowing the SQLUSER to Query a view on SQL2. I've tried many different settings but none have been working (obviously, or I would not be posting here).
Is this possible at all without setting Mixed authentication mode on SQL2?
