  • The only "enhancement" is where the coffee is going in and that someone else is prepared to get it :ermm:

Another enhancement I would like is a light that goes on red when I am hungry and someone to bring the food because there is nothing I hate more than to stop in the middle of coding to get food because I cannot concentrate when I am hungry.:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

  • This reminded me of when I was taking my masters many years ago. One module that only a few of us undertook was VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). To add interest the lecturer arranged two site visits. In the early summer of 1984 we piled into two cars to visit a semiconductor manufacturer. After being shown round the plant we removed our white coats, overshoes and hairnets (whatever happened to those long thick luxuriant locks?), and taken for a coffee. Afterwards we were lead through a door into a darkened room where about half a dozen people were beavering away. The only source light was their vdus and the desk lamp they each had. It was explained they were developing test and simulation software. Our guide joked that they fed them by sliding pizzas under the door.

On the way back we stopped at a lovely riverside pub for a few pints. Our lecturer then joked (was he?) that he would not like to be a developer there as the environment as it was more akin to a mushroom farm!

  • Were it only true...

No, no, no!!! I did not mean that I eat a lot but just nice when a person got hungry and someone can know to bring you food. Eeeeeh, maybe you're right. Could be disastrous for weight.

I like the idea of ESP to have somebody prep food.

Unfortunately I think this represents too much of the silver spoon syndrome.
