    LEFT(REPLACE(CAST(NEWID () AS NVARCHAR(MAX)), '-', '') , 15)

    I'm not sure if that will return unique strings. Although, the chance for duplicates is low.

    Good point Luis. A Unique constraint could easily prevent duplicates.
