I'm looking into consolidating a couple of our servers and have a question regarding AGs (Availibility Groups) .
We have an application that is configured in an AG and the servers are massively under utilised. I was thinking of putting other databases that require an AG onto the same servers but the existing application uses the "Latin1_General_BIN2" collation. To avoid running into issues with tempdb etc I was thinking of configuring a second SQL instance onto those servers to service other applications.
Does anyone have any experience in multiple instances that have AGs on the same servers? Just wondering if there is any reason not to go down this road, assuming this is possible of course.
