What is the current size of the TEMPDB ldf file, what is the growth size? Is it set to autogrow?

To figure out what is causing it to grow you need to know what is running that causes this. You will need to use SQL Profiler to capture activity of what is going on to help narrow down the process. Activity monitor can also help if you have some suspicions of which database and know about what time of day it happens.
