  • Easiest points I ever earned! Go All Blacks!

  • The correct answer should be END TRY - the completion of the try, which scores 5 points in Union, 4 in League. The Try Conversion (TRY_CONVERT) then scores an additional 2 in both codes.

    No, because as you say TRY = 4/5, but TRY_CONVERT = 6/7

I agree. The question is which scores the executer the most points. The try scorer gets five points, the player who converts the try two.

Yes, it's just a bit of fun, so thanks for the question, Eirikur!

Only if you take TRY_CONVERT to mean the Try and the Try Conversion.

I take it to mean just the Try Conversion (so 2 points).

  • Come off it - the answer was absolute rubbish! If you convert a TRY, you ALREADY have 3 points. The conversion is worth only 2 points.

    Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish!

You never know: reading my book: "All about your computer" might just tell you something you never knew!

Exactly as I did, clearly this question has not been thought through properly! Give points NAOW!!! 🙂

  • Nice fun question to end the week.

Random fact time. A try is called a try as it originally didn't score any points. It allowed the scorer to have a try at goal to score points.

  • Now I know how the people on the other side of "the pond" feel when the humor questions are US centered. 😀

I'm more upset it isn't Halloween themed, given the Byte Me comic and that there is no QotD tomorrow.

  • I feel like rugby expert now after answering is correctly. Nicely put. Thanks for sharing.

    and have a nice weekend.

  • Great question! This reminds me of rooting for our school team at Franciscan University[/url], one of the few US colleges where rugby is the #1 sport!
