Reporting Services Native Mode vs SharePoint Mode for SharePoint 2013

    Hi All,

    I'm planning to install SharePoint 2013 Standard but i'm considering installing RS in native mode vs Sharepoint mode.

    What are the benefits of installing the SharePoint mode versus native mode.

    Any tips or advice will be appreciated.

    Here are some of the generic benefits of SSRS in SharePoint mode:

    - Security is controlled via SharePoint security

    - Reports are stored primarily in document libraries on content databases

    - Reports are managed through SharePoint, so structure of where to put reports is controlled by site/site collection admins

    If you are using SQL Server 2012 or higher there are definitely some benefits to gain from SSRS in SharePoint mode:

    - Kerberos delegation does not need to be manually setup between SharePoint SSRS as SSRS will work with claims

    - Report errors are sent to the ULS logs for centralized logging/troubleshooting

    - High availability and load-balancing is handled automatically by SharePoint - no need for a third-party load-balancer
