AllHow long should the latest TLOG backups be kept on tape before the media is recycled. Some suggest 2 weeks. This seems very short to me.
Corruption issues could be problematic if they are not caught within that period of time. Is there any general outline for tape backups.
Quick thought, the retention of the Log backups has to go in line with the Full and Differential backups, no use keeping them longer than the good Full or Diffs. On the corruption, database integrity checks should always go in-line with the Full and preferably the Diffs too, if not on the system then as a regular restore exercise.
