How to limit choices (or set boundaries) in date parameters and/or multi value parameters?

  • Dear SQLServerCentral admins and members:

Hello, a pleasant day to all.

I am having a difficulty in my parameters in SSRS. The client want to have a start date and end date, but for the sake of faster retrieval of data, they decided that the rules must be 100 days maximum between start date and end date. In addition with this, the user must select a multi value parameters, and then again, since they know that adding these additional multi value parameter will result in long, large amount of data, so they said out of 20 choices from the dropdown, the report should limit the choices to only three, then it will be up to them to generate another set of record/s. This is very tiresome for them but it\ll somehow benefit the database because the result will not be that large unlike if the user makes "unlimited" choices in dates and in the multi valued parameters.

I have already added the parameters in my stored procedures, I just can't figured out how to do the boundaries/limitations. I hope someone could give an idea on how to achieve this.

    Thank you and more power.

    Respectfully Yours,

    Mark Squall
