Cluster failover failing on 2008R2

  • Hi All,

    I have 4 node cluster (c1,c2,c3,c4) and 6 SQL instances installed(ins0,1,2,3,4,5).

ins0,1,2,3,4 able to failover to c1,c3,c4 but not c2

ins5 able to failover all nodes.

ins0,1,2,3,4 SQL Server with analysis services installed. add all the features to all nodes.

i verified the logs below errors i found.

Cluster Agent: The cluster resource Analysis Services (INS1) has become degraded.

Cluster Agent: The cluster resource Analysis Services (INS1) has become degraded.

Generic service 'Analysis Services (INS4)' could not be brought online (with error '1060') during an attempt to open the service. Possible causes include: the service is either not installed or the specified service name is invalid

Cluster node -c1' was removed from the active failover cluster membership. The Cluster service on this node may have stopped. This could also be due to the node having lost communication with other active nodes in the failover cluster. Run the Validate a Configuration wizard to check your network configuration. If the condition persists, check for hardware or software errors related to the network adapters on this node. Also check for failures in any other network components to which the node is connected such as hubs, switches, or bridges.

And also verified the Registry files,

Cluster state and configuration state for C1, C3 and C4 but same is missing for C2 node, I am not sure this will effect the failover and failback.

please advise as tomorrow i have maintenance window so that i will try all possibilities on your feedback.

    Thanks,

    Giri
