I'm interested in ideas/recommendations on how to send email to notify a user that their SSRS report is ready to view in a windows file share. I am thinking someone out there must have done something like this already.
1) Generate a SSRS report to a windows file share (e.g. \\Corp\FileServer\Finance)
2) Send notification to users to say:
"Hello your report FinanceAccountsRpt001 is ready in \\Corp\FileServer\Finance"
This method feels safer because files are in file share, but also able to notify users their report is ready.
The solution would need to write to a windows file share and notify the appropriate staff via email when report is ready with file location.
Wondering does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
I've have some thoughts but all of them seem a little messy and hard to maintain. Looking for a clean simple/elegant solution.
