Question about SQL Jobs

  • Hi,

Does anyone know what might cause an enabled SQL Job with an active schedule not to run? I have a job that is supposed to run every 10 minutes that suddenly stopped. When I view the history, it has a last run time from a couple of hours ago. Other Jobs have more up-to-date last run times, so I don't think the SQL Server Agent itself stopped. If there were an error, I'd expect to see several failed attempts to run, but I don't. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • The schedule also has an enabled flag. The schedule also may have had an end date.

The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival.

  • Also check what the Job Activity Monitor is showing for Next Run.

  • Might be a daft question, but is it still running (i.e. last run never finished)?

  • All,

Thanks so much for the responses. It looks like a few jobs were still executing according to the Job Activity Monitor. One I stopped them, everything was back to normal.

    Thanks again,

    Mike
