I'm in the middle of doing a DR setup for an inhouse vended solution. Both Server A and Server B have ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB on them, with Server A being the vendor solution and Server B being used for other production databases (these two servers are not part of the same cluster). Since the reporting dbs already exist on Server B with other reports in them, I can't just restore over these DBs nor can I mirror them.
The options in my head are as follows:
1) Restore the vendor-related reporting dbs under a slightly different name and create a script run at failover time that refers to the new db names.
2) Mirror the vendor-related reporting dbs to a slightly different name and create a script run at failover time that refers to the new db names.
3) Possibly import all the reports to the existing Server B reporting databases (along with the related data) and not worry about db name issues.
My preferred option is 3, but I cannot seem to find anything SQL 2008 related to exporting / importing reports from one server to another aside from restoring the databases. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can get this accomplished?
