Reports Running Faster in IE8 than BIDS

  • Hi,

I am just wondering how this works as it is not really a problem.

When I run a report deployed to the report server via IE8 the reports renders in 3 seconds on average.

When I run this report from within BIDS the report renders in 24 seconds on average.

What is the reason for this happy occurence? Is it the fact that deploying the report creates some kind of execution plan on the report server?

    Thanks.

  • When running the report in BIDS all the work (other than the database work) is being done locally on your PC. When running in IE from a report server the report server is doing most of the work and IE is just rendering the HTML.
