WAITFOR wait type

  • Hi Experts,

One of our main application is connecting from different node and all connection from all node is showing WAITFOR waittype. That application is not accessible at this moment and we are investigating into that, can this be the reason??

    TIA

  • The WAITFOR wait type indicates that the session in question is currently running a WAITFOR DELAY or WAITFOR TIME statement.

  • Thanks Gail,

I have read that and its mentioned like someone have to manually give that. I dont think someone will call that from application.

    Is there any other possibility??

  • The WAITFOR wait type means that the session is running the WAITFOR statement. Hence, if you're seeing that wait, the app is running that statement. Look through that app's code for the presence of the WAITFOR statement anywhere.

Actually, the site owners do it in one of their SQL products (Monitor, I think).
