This is a question for those of you who are in the health industry. What are you using for HIPAA compliance monitoring? We have been using Idera Compliance Manager, but are not happy with some important features that are missing (ie, what were the values that were passed to a stored procedure). Are you happy with your solution? Do you feel it meets the new HIPAA standards that have been recently set?

Anytime I've worked in the healthcare industry, two things drove our regulation and auditing.
1) Our Legal Department, leading to
2) Our custom code to abide by their requirements.
I've never (in 9 different locations) used anything out of the box to make sure we were HIPAA covered.
Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.
