Help me out

    Under Requirements:

"Free disk space for that is two times the size of your durable memory-optimized tables."

    Under Important Notes:

"The total in-memory size of all durable tables in a database should not exceed 250 GB."

I have not used these tables yet. Can someone validate/correct my assumption that the requirement of 'two times the size' is the hard disk space, but the 'total in-memory size' is the virtual memory limit?

    Thanks!

  • My first question is... do you actually have a problem where Hekaton would actually solve the problem? Hekaton is not a performance panacea.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • To be honest, not quite sure how this wound up in the forums... I was posting a reply to the QOTD from Wed. 4/24.

I do not have an actual use case; just using the QOTD to learn new things & keep my finger on the SQL pulse.
