The bad news is IT jobs in general pay lower compared to the US (look up TDWI, Global Knowledge salary reports). The good news is SQL Server is more popular than Oracle in Canada in general compared to the US so there should be some opportunities here in Canada albeit probably a lower salary compared to a similar job in the US (at least in most regions).
