Can't upgrade from SQL 2008 R2 to 2012 Eval (no key yet)

  While I am waiting for the company to complete the purchasing, I tried to upgrade my current SQL 2008 R2 to 2012 Eval, I got error saying:

  "run sql server 2012 feature upgrade failed"

  I don't want to install a standalone instance for 2012, is there any work around?
