• I have been testing some backup and restore scenarios using Asigra for SQL Server 2008 R2 and see a big set back. The tail log cannot be recovered using Asigra and at the same time, tail log recovered using SQL Server Management studio cannot be applied to the restored backup set of Asigra. It throws following error

TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

    ------------------------------

Restore failed for Server 'DEV01'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoExtended)

    ------------------------------

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The log in this backup set begins at LSN 22000000025600001, which is too recent to apply to the database. An earlier log backup that includes LSN 22000000024900001 can be restored. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

    BUTTONS:

    OK

I checked several times and i did not miss applying any transaction log. My finding is that you will loose some data if you use Asigra for your backup and restore.
