Error deployeeing SSIS package using the SSIS deployment utility

  • Hi, we recently upgraded our reporting server from SQL 2k5 64bit to SQL 2k8 R2 64 bit. It is running on the same server so I installed the 2k8 as a named instance. I have managed to migrate and upgrade all the databases and jobs. I have now created a new SSIS package and it is giving me the following error:TITLE: Package Installation Wizard

    ------------------------------

Could not save the package "D:\SSIS\MedicalOPSBIDW\MedicalOPSBIDW\bin\Deployment\MedicalOpsConsolidation.dtsx" to SQL Server "[Server name]".

    ------------------------------

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The package failed to load due to error 0xC0011008 "Error loading from XML. No further detailed error information can be specified for this problem because no Events object was passed where detailed error information can be stored.". This occurs when CPackage::LoadFromXML fails.

I have created the package in BIDS 9 and it does not want to deploy. I can execute the packages perfectly out of BIDS, just not deploy them. Bearing in mind that the default instance on the server is 2k5 and is still running. Is there any suggestions out there?
