SSRS 2012: incorporating custom template to Report Wizard

  • I’m not sure if this is an appropriate place for this question, I apologise if this is completely out of the topic of this forum.

My boss wants me to create a report template with standard logo, fields for parameters display in a header, a standard sub report at the bottom of the page, and the page number in the footer. He also wants in-built ability to group and drill down in this template as well. I am fairly new to my report manager role and I have created a new and very simple template that has all the needed elements of a standard report, but the grouping and drill down.

I need to find a way to use this template in in-built Report Wizard that automates the grouping and drill down.

I looked into modifying StyleTemplates.xml, but not sure how to code in a link to the image and positioning of parameter field (top left) and the sub report (bottom of the page).

Any hints, helpful links would be greatly appreciated. I am working in Visual Studio 2012.

  • You need data in a tablix in order group and drill down.. once you have the tablix, you can easily add groups

appreciate you effort, but that doesn't answer the question how can I automate this process in custom-built wizard.
