In an SSRS 2008 r2 report that I am suppose to work with, there are a large volume of rdls associated with one solution file. Can you tell me how I know what the 'startup rdl' is? Basically when a user runs the report on the report server, how will I know where the first 'screen' that is displayed is started from?

There's no "first" report. When a user clicks on a report, SSRS runs the report.
You can have master reports though which use other reports as subreports or use other reports as drillthrough.
It is up to the developer to hide reports that are not meant to be run directly by a user.

How do you find the master reports?

There's no clear way of telling.
You'd have to ask the developer who created them.
If I create a bunch of stored procedures, some of them calling others, how would you know which is the "master" stored procedure?
