In my opinion, it always better to jump ship before it sinks and if you see the ship sinking and can get out you should. So you are taking a FTE position, that doesn't mean it is for a lifetime, it can be your life boat and you can continue to look for a more challenging position. Or you can take the FTE and see if you can get some smaller clients of your own and build your own consultancy.
