I need cluster installation information

  • Hi all

Here we have to setup cluster environment for one of my client.

Here we are having the 500gb hard disk and 8 instances.

in that 4 applications are running.

can any one please suggest hot to setup the clustering.

please send the cluster setup information with screens.

  • Insufficient information, could you elaborate the environment more than what is said in your post.

  • Have you setup clustering? If not, you might want to hire someone as a consultant to help you here.

It's unclear what you are trying to accomplish with a cluster. You have 8 instances, but are you moving them? Are you consolidating? trying to protect them all? Your disk size isn't likely relevant, so I'm not sure why you include that.

  • Hi,

Perhaps this will help... there are 4 parts to it.

    Thanks,

8 instances and storage of 500 GB , you need to check once again. Clustering is a instance level failover, Is all your instances in a single box ? You need to plan properly?

Let me explain for single instance, we have taken 500 GB of storage from SAN and our application is also not that transactional active.

We had configure two node active/ passive cluster for a single instance, even you can have two instance in cluster if the instances are in separate boxes participating in cluster by configuring active/active cluster. In Active/active cluster you need to ensure your hardware in term of CPU / ram etc are enough to carry both the instances load in case of failover.

Let us know the arch properly , we can guide you. 🙂
