syntax of building a hyperlink

  • Thanks in advance for any help... I am trying to build a query that will have as one of its resulting columns a hyperlink built from a site name + directory + filename + extension... I've got a start but I'm sure the syntax and punctuation are far off... any ideas? Thanks!

    Select

    A.tp_LeafName as Filename, ([http://mysite.com] + A.tp_DrName + A.FileName + D.Extension) as Hyperlink, D.UIVersionString,

    A.tp_drName as Path,

    D.Extension as Ext

There just aren't enough details to provide a detailed answer here. In order to help we will need a few things:

    1. Sample DDL in the form of CREATE TABLE statements

    2. Sample data in the form of INSERT INTO statements

    3. Expected results based on the sample data

  • It was just a syntax problem, but if anyone needs it here's the way I rewrote the concatenation that works:

    Select

    A.tp_LeafName as Filename, 'http://mysite.com/' + A.tp_DrName + '/' + A.FileName + '/' + D.Extension) as Hyperlink, D.UIVersionString,

    A.tp_drName as Path,

    D.Extension as Ext
