How to stop SQL services on both cluster node without failover

  • I need to clean stop SQL services and dependent services on Cluster both node without failover for adding new SAN drive,

    pls help me and suggest the steps for same

  • Stop the services using the Cluster Administrator application to set them to offline.

    Only if using veritas cluster server, wsfc does not have a freeze action

  • Michael had the answer. Put the SQL Cluster offline using the cluster administrator. This will stop the SQL services.

    You can then close down the cluster. Shut down the passive nodes first to prevent the Windows part of the cluster from doing a failover. Then shut down the active node.
