Extracting From Oracle View Returns NULL for VARCHAR2 (4000) Columns

  • Hi All

Wasn't too sure if I should post this in the Oracle forum or SSIS..:ermm:

Was wondering if anyone has come across this issue before or has a workaround...

I'm writing an Extract package as part of an ETL process using the Attunity Oracle Source (although the same happens if I use the SSIS OLEBD Source)

I'm writing a simple query just to extract columns from a View (I don't have access to the View script), if I run this script in Oracle Developer all of the VARCHAR2 (4000)

    columns return data.

If I run exactly the same script in SSIS all of the VARCHAR2 (4000) columns are NULL

I've got a workaround that involves a SELECT INTO script (outside of SSIS) into a table and then just created a data source that connects to this table in SSIS and all the data is returned. I don't like this however as its an extra step and its messy.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks All
