even after installing sql on other drive(D drive) not able to install properlly(only configuration tools are displaying).

guys give me some right tips to install it.

  • This might not be relevant as maybe you've already tried this ... but have you looked in your add/remove programs to see if there were remnants of past SQL Server 2005 installation causing conflicts/problems? You can try removing everything there, then use the SQL 2005 installer agian?

Although I have a different version and experienced different behavior I had installation troubles too.

I used Add/Remove programs... removed everything SQL 2012, and then re-installed as if brand-new and was successful.

  • Hello I saw your posting, but I wanted to confirm.. you stated you have installed only the client tools successfully?

Are you stating that the SQL Server engine was not installed?

But you posted the log from the sql server.

Is your problem now you are unable to access SQL Server? If you use the surface area configuration manager do you see the SQL Server services "started"?
