i dont have rights to access the location of a file

  • Hi!!

i know nothing about p.c's and i'm freaked out..

I formated my laptop (windows 7 pro.), After back up,i transferred all files back but the folder with the photos which i forgot i had it as hidden, is empty. Just the tittle/name of each subfolder left, no content , 0 gb. In the external hard disc i temporaly stored my files ,when i select PHOTOS, again title/name of subfolders appear and when i hit on them the photos appear as icons, but no content is allowed to be seen. When i hit on an icon-specific photo appears the message " you dont have the rights to access the location of the file" . It wont let me view them with any programme, any computer neither copy or transfer them. As if they are stuck in the external disc. Is it because it was hidden and after format something like key or certificate is lost? Does it have smt to do that my pc is now renamed? Just to mention that after little search I got full ownership but still... PLEASE TELL ME...

  • nobody?

  • It appears that the backup was not a complete backup and just had file fragments. Did you format because of checkdisk or scandisk errors?

  • I formatted cause my pc was slow and got stuck from time to time... I dont know which disc was responsible...

  • Unless you have another backup of the files, I don't think you are getting your info back.
