databases responding

  • You have to start troubleshooting the system. First, are all users on all applications on all databases suffering, or only some? That help determine where to look. Have things been getting steadily worse or are you suddenly having an issue? Again, this can change your responses. You need to check the system, looking at I/O, Memory and CPU. You need to check the database server to look for error conditions, blocked processes... all kinds of stuff.

    In short, you have to troubleshoot this from your end. We're not there so we can't look over your shoulder and make suggestions. What have you looked at so far? What experience do you have dealing with this sort of thing?
