SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition as Development Server

  • Hi,

Is it possible to install Developer edition of SQL Server to a windows server environment as development server?

Each developer will have a local copies of same sql edition and will connect to this development server for data/object synchorization.

All application will connect to this server for application testing.

If so, will it violate the license?

Is there any special configuration/consideration if installed as a development server?

    Thanks for the information.

    Cesar

  • thanks for the reply.

but what i've posted is not stated in there, i just need confirmation and if necessary, some documents to prove it is possible.

    thanks.

  • This is a question best asked to Microsoft, not here. No one I know of who posts here regularly is an MS employee, let alone someone in their sales division who will know the strictures of licensing.

To my knowledge, you have connection limits on developer addition. You can't violate those limits, so as long as you're working within them, I think you can use it for development. But, that's just me, some dude on the internet. Contact Microsoft for real answers.
