Hello everyone,
I am attempting to perform an in place upgrade from a SQL Server 2005 Express instance to SQL Server 2008 R2 Express that has another SQL Server 2005 instance installed on the same server. I am receiving messages that state there are no features to upgrade during the installation process; this is not the case obviously since I am attempting to upgrade from SQL Server 2005.
It doesn’t matter whether I attempt to perform the upgrade using the setup program or calling the setup from the command line using a configuration *.ini file. The instance that I am writing about is SQL Server 2005 Express, but I believe the same is true for the Standard Edition.
